A1 Vanishing Pond Camp A1 | Private Forest Tent Nooks Near Waterfall & Rapids

Find your own forest nook at A1 Vanishing Pond Camp, a spacious camper favorite with extra privacy and trees all around. Four distinct tent areas provide room for smaller and medium tents as well as a large family tent. Improved, level areas and hammock-friendly trees make it easy to settle into the woods.

Located in the first section of the campground, A1 is closest to the waterfall, nearby rapids, and river access points facing one of the islands. Gather around the 3-foot metal fire ring with slabwood bench seating after a day exploring the river.

Check-in is from 12 noon onward; checkout is before 12 noon.

The surrounding wilderness river corridor offers waterfalls, creeks, fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking, and forest walks. Parsons is only a few miles away for shops, services, and restaurants. The Dry Fork and Black Fork rivers meet nearby, with the Fernow Experimental Forest and Monongahela National Forest in the surrounding area.

Explore river access points upstream and downstream on foot, by bike, or with a short drive. The scenic dead-end road continues about 2.5 miles past camp, with forest and river views along the way. The Hendricks swinging bridge, a pedestrian suspension bridge across the river, is about half a mile toward town, with more swimming and tubing opportunities nearby when river conditions allow.

The base rate includes 4 guests. Maximum occupancy is 8, including children. Additional guests above 4 are $7.50 per person per night. Bring your own tents, hammocks, and camping equipment.
