D5 — Mossy Glen Camp | Park-and-Walk Tent Campsite

Settle into a spacious forest retreat surrounded by towering trees and moss-covered boulders at Campsite D5. This park-and-walk tent site is approximately 240 feet from the communal parking area along the power line road. Carry your gear along the woodland path and enjoy a peaceful setting tucked into the woods.

YOUR FOREST CAMPSITE

Enjoy level areas for tents, room for an easy-up canopy, and trees suited to hammock camping. Choose a comfortable tent spot or a quieter wooded nook within your campsite, then gather around the firepit and slabwood bench for a relaxing evening beneath the trees.

This site is for tent and hammock camping. Vehicles remain in the communal parking area; RVs, trailers and pop-up campers cannot be accommodated at the campsite. Bring your own tent or hammock and sleeping gear. Shared campground porta-potties are available; there is no private bathroom at the campsite.

The nightly rate includes four guests. Additional guests are $7.50 per person, per night, with a maximum of eight overnight guests, including children.

RIVER AND BEACH ACCESS

Follow the marked trail along the power line to Johnson Hole, the campground’s main river beach and swimming area. Enjoy the shared bonfire area and communal grill pit, explore the shoreline, or spend an afternoon swimming, wading or fishing when conditions allow.

The river offers opportunities for kayaking, tubing and exploring nearby islands. River levels and currents change with rainfall, so choose activities appropriate to the conditions and supervise children closely around the water.

EXPLORE BEYOND YOUR SITE

Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground occupies 36 wooded acres with approximately 2,100 feet of frontage along the Dry Fork River. The scenic dead-end road continues roughly 2.5 miles beyond camp, offering more forest and river scenery to explore.

Visit the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge about half a mile toward town, or venture into nearby Fernow Experimental Forest and Monongahela National Forest. Parsons is approximately four miles away for restaurants, shopping and services.

PLAN FOR A PARK-AND-WALK STAY

Pack with the 240-foot walk in mind and bring a flashlight or headlamp for trips after dark. Expect a natural woodland path and changing ground conditions, particularly after rain. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

With shady tent spaces and river adventures nearby, D5 is a welcoming place to slow down and enjoy a few days in the woods.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
